Azione PlasMARE - Piattaforme per un Ecosistema della Ricerca per Monitoraggio e Analisi

Progetto MARE - MI2615 - Azione 1.1.3b - CUP [B22F26000470005] – Programma Nazionale Ricerca, Innovazione e Competitività per la Transizione Verde e Digitale 2021–2027 (PN RIC 2021–2027) – Avviso D.D. n. 307 del 18/03/2025

Project overview

PLASMARE (PLAtformS of Monitoring and Analysis Research Ecosystem) is a research and innovation project within the MARE ecosystem that promotes a national infrastructure for the enhancement, dissemination and adoption of advanced digital solutions supporting public health through a One Health approach, jointly considering human, animal and environmental health.

The initiative aims to activate a distributed ecosystem of tools and services that facilitate the use, sharing and protection of health, genomic, environmental and epidemiological data through intelligent technologies for prevention, decision support and territorial response.

VisioScientiae contribution

VisioScientiae leads Work Package 2 (DIGITAL), developing innovative platforms and integrated interfaces that facilitate interaction with the primary knowledge graph platform, which interconnects clinical, genomic, demographic and environmental data with epidemiological information related to the Sardinian population.

The solution includes an AI-powered chatbot for data retrieval, enabling technical and non-technical users, including doctors, analysts, patients and regulatory bodies, to query databases in natural language according to their profile and obtain information as data, concise analyses or charts.

The interface is designed to provide contextual explanations, personalised information paths and an accessible experience for all users.

The activity also includes the production of educational materials, the organisation of training paths and the activation of services for integrating the interfaces into public information systems, helping make the platform an everyday tool for digital healthcare.

Objectives and impact

The main expected outcomes include the creation of a shared and interoperable infrastructure, increased accessibility to research platforms through a digital matchmaking portal, stronger technology transfer to companies, the promotion of precision medicine and epidemiological surveillance, and the growth of the competitiveness of the national research and innovation system, with particular attention to the development of Southern Italian regions. The project also aims to foster stable collaboration between public research, the production system and healthcare services, generating scientific, economic and social impact.
